Cancellation of celebration leads to a gift the whole community will benefit from.

The Board of Education conducted its Annual Chair and Vice-Chair elections at the June 9th Public Board meeting.

Coach Lesley Clements shared a wonderful group photo of the Whistler Secondary School Bike Team. The WSS bike team has 60 kids this year, and Coach Clements could not express enough how amazing the team was! The team is 1 ½ weeks from the end of a 6 week season, and it could not have been made possible without the help from WSS teachers Hugh Nichols, Jacob Depodesta and Layla d’Emanuele.

In the month of June, we celebrate National Indigenous History Month to honour the history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous Peoples in Canada. On Monday, June 21st, National Indigenous Peoples Day, we celebrate the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis!

The Homestay Program is coming back and in case you missed it, if you're interested in being a host parent in Sea to Sky for an international student, Mountain FM had a great info session with SD48 District Principal, Faizel Rawji and Jamie Cruz who has been a homestay parent for the past 8 years. The school district annual event saw Elders, Squamish Nation and Lil'Wat Nation school leaders and youth, share, sing and drum.
